Starting June 2025, individuals who are incarcerated will NOT lose their Medicaid! This is amazing news and impacts how EA can bring FREE case management to our community members in jail. Did you know that at this time, if you spend even one night incarcerated that your Medicaid gets turned off? This causes a major disruption in your care and quality of life. Thankfully, WA state has changed this, and starting in June 2025, people will no longer have their Medicaid put on suspension. Expect Abundance wants to take advantage of this legislative success by meeting with people while they are incarcerated to start planning for their stability and goals prior to being released. The case management can include everything from helping pass messages to family, to applying for housing.
